In the quiet fields of Rajshahi, Bangladesh, lives an eight-year-old boy named Eklab Rahman. From the outside, Eklab seems like any other child—curious eyes, a playful spirit—but his world is different. Eklab lives with mental retardation, a condition that makes daily life a constant challenge not only for him, but for his entire family.
Eklab is often restless. He struggles to concentrate, finds it difficult to complete even simple tasks, and doesn’t show interest in studying. At times, his frustration leads to fights with other children in the village. His behavior is unpredictable, and his parents—despite their patience and love—find it increasingly hard to manage.
His father, a hardworking farmer, toils each day just to put food on the table. The family's income barely covers their basic needs, let alone the cost of specialized care, therapy, or schooling that Eklab so urgently needs. They dream of a future where Eklab receives the support that can help him grow, learn, and connect with the world around him—but that future feels far away.
